Publications Layout & Design - Architectural Understudy

Duties Include:
- Interior layout of all 5.5 x 8.5” chapbooks, starting from receiving individual winning contest entries by email.
- Adding entries to the manuscript, proofing the final layout with the Publications and Design Architect or other designated Editor.
- Sending the ready layout to the printer as a .pdf file.
- Full cover design (complete design or using supplied graphics), created as a layered image, then flattened to JPEG and finalized as PDF after proofing.
- Title font and cover design depend on your creativity and Publications and Design Architect approval—cover design will be taught if you’re new to it!

Note:
This is for chapbooks only and excludes perfect bound books, such as the Annual Members' Anthology and Verse Afire Magazine.
These exclusions may be added in the future once you are comfortable with chapbook production. -
Recommended Skills:
Familiarity with .doc, .docx, .otf files and adaptable word processors for layouts; experience in using a graphics program (with layers) that supports .jpg, .jpeg, .tiff, and other image formats. - Perks: Training will be provided. Honorarium payments to be negotiated.
