His Legacy

Ted Plantos was a cornerstone of the Canadian poetry community. A prolific poet, editor, and mentor, he believed that poetry should be accessible to everyone and that the "people's voice" was the most vital part of our culture.

The Ontario Poetry Society honors his memory through several initiatives, including the Ted Plantos Memorial Award and our annual dedications.

"Poetry is the soul’s oxygen."
