Bio for Max Vandersteen
Max is a retired pipefitter who resumed writing poetry after a career in the petrochemical industry. He strives to use poetry to express concerns regarding issues that deal with social justice including reconciliation, environmental consequences of our resource and land use, and the need for a global community to deal with these concerns. He is the current President of the Edmonton Stroll of Poets Society and also the Edmonton Representative for The Ontario Poetry Society. He is also a member of Parkland Poets, The Ontario Poetry Society, Cultivating Voices Live Poetry, and Green Mountain Writers.
As well as having his poems contained in numerous anthologies published by those groups he has also had poems included in Anthologies by others, which include Polar Express Publishing, Dr. William Henry Drummond Poetry Contest, Poets for Ukraine, Hidden Brook Press, Age Friendly Edmonton Chapbook, and Mackenzie Publishing.
