Garth was born and raised in Saskatchewan and is currently an Alberta based poet. Garth's poetic pen name title is "Poet of the Blackmud Creek". He has been living directly beside the Blackmud Creek Ravine (South Edmonton) for over 25 years.
Garth's poems have made appearances in over 100 publications (newspapers, newsletters, anthologies, magazines) from coast to coast here in Canada as well as newspapers in the United Kingdom and the United States. His poems have also been featured by a handful of charitable and non profit organizations such as the No Stone Left Alone Foundation, the Joey Moss Memorial Fund, the Edmonton Food Bank, the Winnifred Stewart Foundation, the Royal Military College of Canada, etc.
When Garth was 6 years old he crossed the Atlantic Ocean with his family aboard the ocean liner Alexander Pushkin. That particular sea adventure from Montreal to London was the beginning of the voyage of his lifelong poetic journey.
Garth studied philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan and has travelled extensively throughout the world. He has not yet decided to publish his first book of poetry.
