Lyn Carlson - When Lyn was a toddler, her family moved from Calgary to
a property near Wiarton, returning to her mother's roots on the Bruce Peninsula. At school she was involved in many clubs and sports,
as well as after-school activities including figure skating and Air Cadets. She was an Ontario Scholar and received her School Letter
among other Honours, including for English Studies.

Lyn always found writing poetry an instinctive means to express thoughts and feelings, as well as to pay tribute to special people
and occasions. Her first publication, "I had in mind..." (2016) is packed with more than 50 poems while a second volume "I had MORE in
mind..." reprises some of the best, while publishing new poems to mark the auspicious year 2020.

One of her earliest poems was written in grade school for a Remembrance Day contest and won provincial and national prizes. With her father being
wounded in WWII (England - 11th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, then Europe - 2nd Anti-Tank Regiment), and a grandfather who served in WWI
(160th Bruce Battalion) and again in WWII with the Veterans Guard, she keenly feels the importance of Remembrance, and was a member of the
A.N.A.F. Veterans Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion for many years.

After many years working in the GTA and Niagara Region, Lyn moved back to her home area and has lived in Owen Sound for over 25 years with
her husband Robert and their pets. (Anything negative about relationships you may notice in her poetry is about the ex-husband!) She has
had a life-long love of music, collecting and games, particularly trivia and Scrabble.
