The Open Heart 13 Poetry Competition
Open to Canadian Residents Only

Grand Prize: $100 for the best poem
Plus $100 to be donated to the favorite charity
of the Grand Prize Winner

Plus 18 Honourable Mention Awards

All winning poems to receive a fancy certificate
Plus all winning poems to be published in a chapbook
Plus all the winners will receive one free chapbook

Rules and Guidelines:
Blind Judging: No author ID to be anywhere
on the same page as the poem, back or front.
No theme to be added on the poem page. The judge should be able
to discern the theme from the words.
Enclose a cover page with poem title (or first line if no title),
Author name, address, phone number & e-mail if possible.
On your cover page, state Charity and complete mailing
address for the Charity of your choice.
Poems may be previously published,
but no previous contest winners, please.
Poems must include at least one of the following Heart themes:
Love won, Love lost, Love of family, Love of animals,
Love of Humanity, Valentine poems, Bonding, Charity,
Generosity, Compassion, Courage, Heart health problems, Heart wood,
Broken heart, Heartache, Hard hearted, Emotions carried in the heart
Poems not to exceed 36 lines and the stanza breaks count as lines.
All styles welcome.

Deadline: December 25th, 2018

Contest Fee:
$5 for the first poem, additional poems $1 each.
There is no limit to the number of submissions per entrant.
Enclose a #10 s.a.s.e. for winner's list and
receive a FREE $1 coupon for our next contest.
