Roy James, born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on December 8, 1941 (the day following the bombing of Pearl Harbor), is a retired teacher of 41 years at all levels including primary through OAC, in both public and private schools, as well as several Ministry of Education courses. He served as a Curriculum Consultant in Science and Mathematics for 16 of those 41 years. Once leaving his Consultant duties, he became Department Head of Arts at Catholic Central H.S. in Windsor and went on to establish the Visual Arts programme at Academie Ste. Cecile International School in rural Windsor. Twice married, he has four sons and four grandchildren.

As a retiree he has seriously taken up the literary gauntlet in both poetry and prose, and is a regular contributor to T.O.P.S.' Verse Afire, as well as a reviewer for T.O.P.S.

He is proud to claim that he is a bibliophile, maybe even a bibliomaniac, having accumulated several thousands of paperbacks, hardbacks and comic books, the latter which he considers serious valid literature. A practicing professional visual artist and illustrator as well as a muralist, he has illustrated his own book of poetry and T.O.P.S.' anthology Lemon Tradewinds.
